I’ve been reading quite a few articles later about the Entrepreneurial Spirit, and how the most successful entrepreneurs fly by the seat of their pants when it comes to their business strategy.

And perhaps this is true for a small majority – however, there is something to be said for planning and strategy. But perhaps, not for the reasons that you think.

The problem with Random Acts of Marketing is that there is often no follow-through, there is no continuity, and there is very little thought. The greatest marketing campaigns don’t come from one genius idea… It comes from when a genius idea perfectly fits the company and the clientele and there are follow-up campaigns and the flow-on effects are managed properly. For most businesses, this requires careful planning.
