So you’ve spent hours/days/weeks coming up with this fantastic marketing offer, you’ve emailed it to your database of clients, and are sitting back waiting for the dollars to roll in…

Please, please, please don’t forget to fill your staff in on your latest and greatest offer! (One company did this to me just this week!!) There is very little worse for a consumer than to receive a wonderful piece of marketing material and the person in-store or on the phone has no idea what they are talking about!

In marketing we talk about the sales funnel and the different touchpoints – if you forget any of these points you will lose customers and most of the time you won’t even notice – this can be staff but it can also be through your website.

This is where it is vital to be tracking your results. If you know people are responding and clicking through on emails – but not purchasing online or in-store – first look at your advertisement (is it as amazing as you thought), and secondly look at what happens when they do, is it easy for them to purchase.

Moral of the story – Make sure your staff knows what’s happening so they don’t decrease the success of your brilliant marketing ideas! And make sure your website is set up to be as easy to navigate as possible!
