I’m sure you’ve read that quote, “We have two ears and one mouth, so we should listen more than we speak.” Now the problem is that as marketers we get so caught up in trying to tell people how amazing our product and services are that sometimes we forget to listen.

The honest truth – people don’t care about you, or what you have to sell. They want to know what’s in it for them.

Have a look at your Twitter feed, if it’s anything like mine it is person after person tweeting promotional material. Read my latest article, buy my product – don’t get me wrong, some of that is important to have – but the secret to Twitter is the conversation.
