Today I spent the afternoon teaching my Dad how to work his new Twitter account for his business BlueCanDo (go check it out if you ever need trade show displays or signage!!) But this process got me thinking because, although he is an incredibly talented businessman, social media is not his forte and it’s all slightly overwhelming – however, for the sake of his business he is doing something that scares him!

When it comes to marketing and business – whether you are a one-man band or a multi-national corporation – how many times do we refrain from doing something just because it is ‘scary’ or ‘unknown’? How often do we lag behind and miss opportunities because we were too self-conscious to give them a go? 

I will be honest with you, building Bright Red Marketing has been one of the most challenging undertakings of my life – but at the end of the day, I love every minute of it. Most people will tell a 19 year old straight out of uni that getting into business for yourself is a ridiculous idea… I did it anyway. So I’m here today to say try it, do it, embrace the unknown. Whether that is launching a new business, learning a new social media platform, or starting a video series – go do it!
