So here we are. The first of December. Business is either winding down for the Christmas Holidays or you’re knuckled down for the retail boom as everyone does their last-minute Christmas shopping. Either way, December is the perfect time of year to evaluate how well you’ve done over the past year, what you did well, and what you can improve on.

Something I have learned from years of personal development training is that our brains are wired for goals and to achieve, we want something to aim for, we need a measure of our success. Yes, you may have better financials, and you may have moved into a bigger office space. But if you didn’t have goals set for where you want to be, how can you measure that success? Perhaps you could have done and achieved more?

When we plan out our goals, we give ourselves something measurable and we are therefore far more likely to achieve them. Weekly and monthly goals keep us on track, and quarterly and half-yearly goals give us something to aim for and time to evaluate how far we have come and what we still need to improve. Set massive goals, make them scary, make them hard to achieve. As the saying goes, Aim for the moon, and even if you miss you’ll land amongst the stars.

So make your goals, and make them big – the bigger the better, just imagine what it will be like when you reach them! 

Find an accountability partner to make sure you stay on track, and if you can’t find one – I can be your accountability partner!
