This is a little off-topic from my usual blog posts, but it is still very important. Sometimes when you start out in business and venture out on your own, you can become isolated. Whether you’re working from home 16+ hours a day, or working a day job and working through the night to get your idea off the ground – you start to miss out on a vital factor.

Support and teamwork.

The ability to have another brain like yours, a brain that thinks outside the box and won’t accept the ordinary to bounce ideas off, is one of the keys to success.

I have no doubt you are more than capable of launching your product or service on the world, however – the old adage “Two heads are better than one” stays true. Sometimes your idea just needs a small tweak to become genius, or you need someone to say that idea is brilliant and support you on your journey.  You also need to have people in your life say “Try this instead” or “Have you thought up this?”

Having people around you who are on the same entrepreneurial journey can make all the difference, they inspire you, educate you and help you to be better!

Have you heard the saying, “You become like the 5 people you spend the most time with” – Have a look at the 5, are they where you and your business want to be? If not – it might be time to add some more people to your circle.

Now you might be lucky enough to have an entrepreneurial partner or best friend, but for the rest of us, how do you find that support? There are plenty of Meet Up groups for your fellow entrepreneurs, there are networking events nearly every week. And if that doesn’t work, start your own – Facebook is a brilliant tool, get in touch with that girl from high school that started her own business, or ask your friends who they know – building a network of fellow entrepreneurs is vital.

If you happen to be on the Gold Coast, we are just starting a new group for Young Entrepreneurs – so get in touch and I’ll pass on the details!
