Why You Need to Turn On Two-Factor Authentication on Meta Right Now
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is probably something you've dismissed a dozen times. But if you're running a Meta ad account, ignoring it is a genuine business risk and it takes about two minutes to fix.
What is 2FA?
2FA is a security setting that adds a second layer of protection beyond your username and password. Instead of just logging in with your credentials, you'll be asked to verify your identity through a second method, like a text message or authentication app. It means that even if someone gets hold of your password, they still can't get in.
Why does it matter for your Meta ads?
If you manage a Facebook Business account or Meta ad account, this one's important. Meta has been known to flag and shut down accounts where individual users have 2FA switched off. An account shutdown can bring your advertising to a complete stop, and in the worst cases, your page and ad account can become unrecoverable.
It's not worth the risk over something this simple.
How to turn on 2FA
Open Facebook and click on your profile photo or the menu icon in the top right corner. Select Settings and Privacy, then Settings.
In the left-hand menu, select Accounts Centre.
Go to Password and Security, then select Two-Factor Authentication.
Choose your account and follow the prompts to switch it on. An authenticator app is the most secure option, but SMS works too.
If you've already got it turned on, great. If not, go do it now before you forget.
One more thing
Make sure everyone who has access to your Business Manager or ad account also has 2FA enabled on their personal Facebook profile. It only takes one unsecured account in your team to create a vulnerability.

Reading about Meta ads is one thing. Having an experienced team actually running them for you is another.
