Scaling Meta Ads Isn’t Always About Spending More... Here’s What Worked Instead

When you're running a business and raising kids, every minute and every dollar counts. That's why we're so proud of this recent client win: helping a lunchbox brand drop their Cost per Purchase from $75 to $29, without spending more.

Here's how we did it and what you can take from this strategy for your own brand.

The Backstory

This incredible business owner came to us with a beautiful product, a loyal customer base, and strong organic traction. She'd already built so much on her own, but managing ads on top of everything else (hello, family life!) was becoming overwhelming and the results just weren't where she wanted them to be.

She had solid foundations in place, but like many busy founders, there wasn't always time to test creative, optimise structures, or analyse results in depth. That's where we stepped in.

What We Focused On

1. More Relatable, Engaging Creative

The product was already visually appealing, but we saw an opportunity to create content that really tapped into the emotional side of her customers' lives. Instead of polished studio shots, we leaned into storytelling:

  • Kids packing their own lunchboxes

  • Real mums sharing their morning routines

  • Hands-on footage showing how simple and practical the lunchboxes really are

This made the ads feel more real, more relevant, and ultimately more scroll-stopping for other busy parents.

2. A Simple, Thoughtful Funnel Structure

We didn't throw the kitchen sink at it. We built a clear, strategic campaign structure that guided new customers through the journey:

  • Top of Funnel (TOF): light, engaging problem-aware content to reach new parents who'd never heard of the brand

  • Middle of Funnel (MOF): testimonial-style videos and UGC to build trust and highlight results from real families

  • Bottom of Funnel (BOF): conversion-focused ads with timely offers and soft urgency (think: seasonal messaging, "limited stock" reminders)

3. Smarter Testing, Better Care

The biggest shift? Consistent attention and structure. We introduced a proper testing rhythm, trying new hooks, formats, and audiences each week, and used data to double down on what worked.

When you're a founder juggling all the things, it's nearly impossible to give your ad account that kind of hands-on love. And that's okay! That's where having a dedicated team makes all the difference.

4. More Intentional Retargeting

We rebuilt retargeting audiences with more thought and segmentation:

  • Engaged video viewers

  • Website visitors grouped by product interest

  • A regularly refreshed email list, synced directly into Meta

Instead of lumping all warm traffic together, we tailored our messaging to where people were in the buying journey.

The Results (in just 30 days)

  • Cost per Purchase dropped from $75 to $29

  • ROAS more than doubled

  • Total purchases nearly doubled, with no increase in ad spend

What You Can Do Today

Want similar results? Here's where we recommend starting:

  • Audit your creative: are you showing the emotional benefits of your product, not just the features?

  • Build a funnel: even a simple TOF to MOF to BOF structure can dramatically improve performance

  • Set aside testing time: try a new creative angle or audience every week, even if it's just one

  • Segment your warm traffic: tailor your message based on how much people already know you
